Luggage and Extras
The checked-in luggage allowance on Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries permits up to a maximum of two bags (up to 30kg per bag) per passenger. You can also take a small hand luggage item on board with you and additional luggage or equipment can be purchased from $10/piece.

About Us
Bluebridge was founded by Jim Barker in 1992 when he bought a ship to transport livestock between the north and south islands. In 2002 we launched a passenger service giving travellers a true Kiwi experience when crossing Cook Strait.
Community Support
Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries actively support the communities in which our employees and customers live, work and play. Every year we donate thousands of dollars worth of travel vouchers through our community support programme, to be auctioned (offline), raffled, or awarded as event spot prizes.

Down south our friends at Kaipūpū Sanctuary take care of a lovely part of our natural habitat not far from where we berth in Picton. While Coastguard Marlborough and Coastguard Wellington play a vital role in keeping locals and visitors safe in the Marlborough and Wellington regions. To give back to our community, every year we also donate thousands of dollars worth of travel vouchers to schools, clubs and community groups to help them fundraise.
