Freight Driver Service
At Bluebridge, we're committed to offering drivers the very best possible experience. On board the vessels we have comfortable driver cabins, restrooms, shower facilities and hearty meals to ensure drivers arrive at their destination refreshed and ready for the rest of their journey
Check-in facilities
StraitNZ Bluebridge has dedicated freight check-in terminals in Picton and Wellington. Both terminals have warm cosy lounge areas for drivers which include the daily paper, magazines, complimentary tea and coffee plus bathrooms with shower facilities. There's even a TV and biscuits to enjoy!
On board comfort
Cabins
All driver cabins include their own ensuite, a comfy bed, pillow and duvet. Fresh towels are provided in each cabin along with complimentary driver toiletries including shampoo, body wash and soap. Wake up calls are provided to all drivers half an hour before entering the respective ports (Wellington/Picton).
Meals
Drivers can expect to be served hearty three course meals designed to satisfy even the hungriest of truck driver appetites. They can also enjoy endless complimentary Tea, Coffee and Milo throughout the sailing.
Meals can be ordered by simply presenting a stamped meal voucher at the café. Our chefs can cater to special dietary requirements so if there is anything on the Table d'hote Menu during the sailing which you are unable to eat, please do not hesitate to let our crew know so they can organise an alternative.
Entertainment
Strait Feronia has free recent release movies available in the movie lounges and free Wi-Fi throughout the entire sailing.
We understand that with many products, time and temperature have a direct impact on their shelf life and therefore on the potential revenue a consignment may generate for your customers.
Moving a shipment across the supply chain without suffering any setbacks or temperature anomalies requires the establishment of a comprehensive and reliable logistical process to maintain a shipment’s integrity. And whilst StraitNZ Bluebridge may only form one small link in that chain, we’re 100% committed to helping you achieve your delivery targets and have a track record that proves our reliability.
Modern facilities both on board and ashore allow our specialised roll-on/roll-off freight service to be tailored for individual freight forwarders who have 'just in time' freight. Plus both of our vessels have been fitted with stabilisers, further enhancing the quality and condition of the freight at the port of discharge.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to learn more about the ways we can work with you to help extend the reach of your customer’s perishable products.
Lashing trailers and pushing trailer-horses has for the last 30 years been a hard, slow and cost intensive operation. The LOT system we now have in place at StraitNZ Bluebridge has changed all that completely.
With this modern approach, the auto trestle is connected to the trailer via its fifth wheel-kingpin connection by one of our terminal tractors. The auto trestle then forms an integrated part of the trailer during the crossing. Due to its rigid design the required number of lashings are highly reduced.
In turn our trestle system leads to significant time and cost savings helping our customers improve their on-time performance and allowing us to remain competitive on price.
